Recognition Dinner is Gala Evening!

(Ron Stein of C.A.R.S. accepts the "Business of the Year" award on the behalf of his 40 employees.  Board Chair Shari Carroll and Dinner Chair Scott Smith look on while Carmen Rincones congratulates David Stein.

Over 140 Chamber members and their guests enjoyed the gala event of the spring in Clintonville and honored three community leaders on March 18th.  Brenda Pinnell of Bernie’s Garage was honored as the “Business Person of the Year” for 2006.  Clintonville Automotive Repair Service (C.A.R.S.) and owner Ron Stein were named the “Business of the Year” and Betsy Hubbard, of the Whetstone Recreation Initiative was named “The Booster Community Volunteer of the Year.”

The 2006 Silent Auction, which was part of the evening’s festivities, was also a success as dinner attendees found some

unique bargains.  One of those items was the “Naming Rights” to a menu item at Smith’s Deli.  Smith’s will now feature the C.A.R.S. Club Croissant on their regular menu.

Last year’s Business Person of the Year,   Katie Palmer of  Sobo Style also started a new Chamber tradition by presenting Brenda Pinnell with the “official” Business Person of the Year crown (right) which will be passed along to future winners.  All three winners expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Chamber and the community.  The winners also received commendations from the Rep. Jim Hughes of  Ohio Legislature and from Councilwoman Mary Jo Hudson the Columbus  City Council City Council .
