Paul Knapp, attaché, and Tim McCoy To Be Honored at
Annual
Celebration Dinner Feb. 22 at the Blackwell
Two individuals and a fast growing Clintonville company will be
honored at the Chamber’s Annual Celebration Dinner on Feb. 22nd at the
Blackwell.
2008 Business Person of the Year
Dr. Paul Knapp,
Knapp Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Paul Knapp is a life long Clintonville resident and the owner of a
business that has been serving
Clintonville families
for 65
years. A North High “Polar Bear” and active member of the Polar Bear
Alumni Association. He is also a founding member of the Chamber and
past Board member.
When the
Chamber Notes
interviewed Dr. Knapp in 2005 and asked him about changes in his
business over the years he replied, “We don’t do anything like we used
to. Like other businesses, the biggest changes have been in the area
of technology,” The Knapp Veterinary Hospital now has over 40
employees.
Dr.
Knapp is also a board member of Pilot Dogs of Central Ohio, and
organization his father help found.

attaché, Jason Janoski, CEO
Jason
Janoski grew up in Clintonville and when he started his advertising
business he chose to stay close to home. Fifteen years later, Jansoki
Advertising has grown into a creative services and personnel
consulting company,
attaché,
that is
known across the country. When the company expanded four years ago,
they could have located anywhere. Again, Jason chose to stay in
Clintonville and moved to their current location at 4400 N. High St.
Janoski believes in his community and his employees reflect that
belief. attaché has provided creative services to the Clintonville
Beechwold CRC, the Farmers Market, the Chamber, The American Red
Cross, and others. attaché employees volunteer in a variety of ways
across the community. Janoski currently serves as president of the
Old Beechwold Association.
attaché was recognized by INC Magazine in 2005 as one of the fifty

Community Volunteer, Tim McCoy, Scoutmaster, Troop 474
Tim
McCoy is a lifelong Clintonville resident and is deeply involved in a
number of Clintonville organizations.
As
the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 474 at Overbrook Presbyterian
Church, he is a role model for some 40-plus Scouts who are engaged in
our community. In 2007 he encouraged and guided a half-dozen young
men through the process of earning their “Eagle Scout” award,
scoutings highest honor.
McCoy has been involved with the NCIL baseball program and the
Clintonville Boys Basketball Association. McCoy, his wife Janine and
three children reside on Glenridge Place in Clintonville.
The dinner is February 22nd at The Blackwell on the OSU Campus.
The Silent Auction begins at 6:30 pm, with dinner at 7:30 pm, and the
awards presentation at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $45 per person.

Councilman Ginther to Address Chamber Luncheon on Feb. 28th

Columbus City Council member and Clintonville resident Andy
Ginther will be the Chamber’s luncheon speaker on Thursday, Feb. 28,
2008, at the Clintonville Woman’s Club at 11:30 am.
Councilman Ginther will be updating Chamber members on the 2008
City Budget, recently passed legislation and pending legislation.
There will be a question and answer session following Councilman
Ginther’s remarks.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 am with networking. Members are
encouraged to bring any fliers, information, or display materials
about their business. Cost of lunch is $15, make your reservation by
Feb. 22.

Graceland UPS Store Offers More Than Shipping
The UPS Store at Graceland is ready to serve Clintonville’s shipping,
packaging and printing needs! General Manager Mike Joseph (left)
says, “Because UPS is usually just associated with reliable shipping
services, customers often overlook our packaging services and
especially overlook our document services including both full-service
and self-service black & white and color copying, laminating, binding
and collating.”
The UPS store also offers fax service. The store will be
assisting the Chamber by providing the bags for our 2008 Clintonville
Community Directory delivery.
KEMBA
Opens "State of the Art" Branch on High Street
KEMBA Financial Credit Union opened their new “state of the art”
branch at 4311 N. High St on January 22nd. The new facility offers
ATM and drive-thru teller windows and a wide range of financial
services and products.

Gary Weaver, a 28 year Clintonville resident is the Branch
Manager.
The new branch will hold their “Grand Opening” on Saturday,
February 2, from 11:00 am—1:00 pm. The celebration will include
refreshments, giveaways, and a chance to win $500.
“We’re very excited to begin our 75th year in business with the
opening of our new Clintonville branch,” said Jerry Guy, KEMBA
President. “We have been a part of the Clintonville community for many
years and we are looking forward to serving the residents for year to
come.”
One of the unique features of the new branch is “palm scan” access
to safety deposit boxes.

Directory Deliveries Will Begin Soon

Over
200 Businesses and Residents Attend First Public Workshop For
Clintonville Plan...
Welcome to Clintonville! The City of Columbus Development staff was
overwhelmed when over 200 people attended the first public workshop
for the Clintonville Plan. Average attendance for similar meetings in
other neighborhoods has been 30-50.
City of Columbus Senior Planner, Christine Palmer presented the
over-flow crowd with an over view of the plans objectives, and
outlined the year long process. Attendees then broke into smaller
groups to address three important issues.

The
Chamber has created a special page on our web site to track the
planning process and to provide members an opportunity for input.
