It Was
Truly a "Celebration of Clintonville" at Chamber's Annual Dinner and
Silent Auction
It
was a “Celebration of Clintonville” on Friday, February 20th at The
Blackwell as 140 Chamber members and their guests gathered to honor
Clintonville business and community leaders and to show their support
of the Chamber at our annual Silent Auction. To quote Chamber Chair
of the Board Joe Patchen, “These winners truly reflected the fabric of
Clintonville.”

From
her days at North High School to her current store at 4567 N. High
where you “park in the back” Mary Leavitt is Clintonville. She was
presented this year’s award by 2008 winner and North High classmate,
Dr. Paul Knapp.

The Booster
Community Volunteer
Charlie Walker, Arden Rd.
Indian Springs Elementary School

“An
obvious choice,” was the way Booster Managing Editor Cliff Wiltshire
described our 2009 winner Charlie Walker when he presented the award.
Charlie has volunteered countless hours at Indian Springs Elementary
School and is also a mentor for the Robotics team at Whetstone High
School. The comments from his letters of nomination were overwhelming
to the selection committee. In his quiet fashion Charlie’s comments
in accepting the award summed up the spirit of the evening.
“I’m
just glad to be part of the community. The staff and kids at Indian
Springs have been great to me, that’s is why I step up and do it,” he
said.
Our
award winners also received commendations from the Ohio Senate,
presented by Senator Jim Hughes, The Ohio House, presented by Reps.
John Carney and Carlton Weddington, and Columbus City Council
presented by Councilman Andy Ginther.
