Springtime In Clintonville

   The Chamber's photographer took a stroll down High Street and Indianola, just to enjoy springtime.  In Clintonville that means dogwood trees, spring flowers, and umbrella tables.

Student Citizen Breakfast May 9th Will Honor Middle School Students

Chamber member Denise Baumann will deliver the keynote address at the 2006 Student Citizen Breakfast on May 9th. The Annual event honors middle school students from six area schools. This years honorees are:

Williams Honored by God & Country Music Association 

     Chamber member Glenn R. Williams received the 2006 God and

Country Music Award at the organization’s 21st Annual concert on April 22nd at the Capitol Theater.  The award was in recognition of Williams’ his service to the organization and his dedication to the promotion of traditional band music.

     Glenn is the organizer of the Sunday night concerts at the

Whetstone Park of Roses Gazebo, which have been  sponsored by the North Columbus Civitan Club, since 1975.  He is responsible for keeping alive the tradition of free brass band and wind band concerts in the Columbus area.  He is a founding member of both the OSU Alumni Band and the Clintonville Community Band.  Last year he was also instrumental in helping to form the new Clintonville Community Choir.  He is the owner of The Glenn Williams Nationwide Insurance office at  2930 N. High St.  Glenn has been a Chamber member since 1997.

Summer Vacation Travel Tips at May Luncheon...

   Gasoline is headed over $3 a gallon.  Airlines keep threatening to strike.  What are we going to do for vacation this summer?

     Well why not get your summer vacation tips from the expert.  Kristi Roumeliote of Meridian Travel will be the speaker of the Chamber’s May 16th luncheon at the Clintonville Woman’s Club.

    Kristi plans to cover a variety of travel topics including, “Close to Home Vacation Spots,” “The Hot Locations and Best Values for 2006”,  What to expect from your travel agent and how to use them effectively.” 

    If you haven’t been to a Chamber luncheon for awhile, plan to re-connect.  We’ve changed the format a little to increase your ability to network.  As always, our popular

“Information  Table” will be available to your business literature and information.

Board Member Addresses

OSU Business Women’s Assoc.

    Jeni Engel, Chamber Board member and owner of Hair Concepts, recently

addressed  the Ohio State Undergraduate Women’s Business Association at the Fisher College of Business. 

   Engel related her experiences as a small business owner in juggling the business and family, how she got started in business, and the challenges she faces on a daily

basis as a business owner.

   The OSU group was the first colligate chapter of the American Business Women’s Association  and was founded in 2001 to bring together students and business women of the community. 

 


Chamber Will Again Host Hospitality Village on July 4th

 

It’s not too early to begin making plans to enjoy the July 4th activities at Whetstone Park in the comfort of your own hospitality tent.  Again this year in cooperation with the

Clintonville July 4th Celebration  organizers the Chamber  will host the Hospitality Village.  

    “It was a great day,” said John Hahn of  the Columbus Handyman. 

“Last year we hosted employees, friends and clients.  Our hospitality tent let us enjoy the activities hassle free.”
