Briefs.....
Ohio
Savings Bank is Now AmTrust
After 118 years, something was bound to change. The name. Ohio
Savings Bank officially became AmTrust Bank on April 23. But the name
is the only thing that changed. They have not merged, been bought, or
bought another bank. In states other than Ohio, the bank is known as
AmTrust, so they simply made the name change here in Ohio. Welcome,
AmTrust, new members of the Clintonville Chamber.

Manley Architecture Expands to Offer Distinctive Services
Focus on “Sustainable Design”
Manley Architecture Group/MAG has undergone many changes. Pat Manley
has embarked on a plan to expand the company and offer a distinct set
of specialized services.
The
primary focus of the firm is now Sustainable Building Design, most
commonly referred to as Green Building Design. Although other firms
are incorporating sustainable building strategies, Manley Architecture
Group/MAG is the first Ohio firm to make sustainability its primary
specialty. Our goal is to produce buildings that meet LEED standards.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a
recognized national benchmark established by the U. S. Green Building
Council. The LEED approach results in design, construction and
operations that meet the highest standards for energy efficient and
environmentally friendly buildings. This is the wave of the future
resulting in buildings that have clear economic and societal advantage
over typical buildings.
Manley’s complimentary focii are Universal Design, Feng Shui, offices,
health care and historic renovation/adaptive re-use. An excellent
example of a project, soon to be under construction is the Universal
Design Living Laboratory, or UDLL. This is a model demonstration home
allowing people of all levels of mobility to function easily within a
beautifully designed space. The principles of Feng Shui play a part
in the home’s design, it will be LEED certified and will be the
subject of a PBS special some time in the future. The UDLL has already
received much attention nationally in numerous publications and has
been presented to the National Association of Home Builders at their
annual convention.
