Aladdin's A Clintonville Fixture After 10 Years on High Street

George and Beth Tanchevski opened Aladdin’s Eatery at 2931 N. High Street 10 years ago and it was their only restaurant.  Ten years later there are three more Aladdin’s around Columbus.  Mr. Tanchevski credits the Clintonville neighborhood and his loyal following as a big part of the business’ success.  The Chamber Notes thinks Aladdin’s great Lebanese style menu and super service probably have a lot to do with it as well.

The Tanchevski’s have also recently open their new Italian restaurant, Giogio’s next door to Aladdin’s and it too is being well received by Clintonville residents.

New Owner At Jersey Mike's

Adam and Jennifer Share had always wanted to own a small family business.  Adam had worked for a Jersey Mike’s franchisee while in high school and college, so when the Jersey Mike’s store at 4249 N. High became available it seemed like a perfect fit.

The Share’s purchased the franchise from brothers Dan and Bill Brackett.

Adam and Jennifer also have a one year old daughter Allison.  Adam did admit that it may be a few years before he puts her to work making subs.  Stop by Jersey Mike’s and welcome Jennifer and Adam to the neighborhood.

Metropolitan Partners Will Discuss Current and Future Clintonville Projects

at September 25th Chamber Luncheon at Clintonville Woman's Club

Partners Bill Dargusch and Tim Rollins will update Chamber members and guests on several other Clintonville projects that are currently in various stages of development at the Chamber’s Sept. 25th luncheon at the Clintonville Woman’s Club.

Metropolitan has completed a renovation of 4041 N. High St., which includes the addition of a patio area in front of the building.  They are also moving forward with plans for 4400 N. High and the  building 16 E Henderson.  Most recently they are developing plans for 4214 N. High, currently Young’s Auto Service.

Reservations are required.  Please call the Chamber office at 262-2790 or email info@clintonvillechamber.com

The doors open at 11:30 am.  Cost of the lunch is $15.

They Came Cruisin'! Sixth Cruise the Ville Has Record Turnout

The 6th Annual Cruise the Ville at Whetstone Park on August 23rd was an unprecedented success.  Cruise Chairperson Brenda Pinnell announced that 273 vehicles participated, and nearly 2000 cruisers, volunteers, and neighborhood residents attended the event.  “This was certainly our largest turnout ever,” Pinnell said.  “We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their support, the volunteers that made it happen, and of course our cruisers who brought such  outstanding vehicles.”  Major sponsors of the event included, Tansky Sawmill Toyota, Two Men and A Truck, The Columbus Recreation and Parks Dept., WBNS 10TV, Ohio Auto Kolor, Fifth Third Bank, Thompson Cunningham Insurance, and Southwick Good & Fortkamp Funeral Chapel.  (For a complete list of Sponors go to the expanded version of the September Newsletter)

For the second year in a row, the “Touch-A-Truck” display attracted kids of all ages.  The Bill Foley Band and their music from the 50’s and 60’s were a perfect fit for the event.  The long lines for the very popular Weiland’s Community Hog Roast made it an instant tradition that will be part of future Cruise the Ville programs.  The real winner was the 10TV Family Fund,  the Chamber, on behalf of

the Cruise Committee will be presenting a check to WBNS for $1210 for the fund, which benefits needy families in central Ohio.   For more pictures from 2008 Cruise the Ville, Click HERE
